Our class rules are based on Whole Brain Teaching. In class, we are using non-verbal hand signals for questions, answers, comments, bathroom, and water.

  1. Follow directions quickly.
  2. Raise your hand for permission to speak.
  3. Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.
  4. Make smart choices: Kindness, Leadership, Courage, Invincible Grit, Creativity
  5. Keep your dear teacher happy!

Diamond rule: Keep your eyes on the target! And it’s okay to make mistakes.

Students attend Ms. Dimitrova’s class for Science on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. She will be responsible for their full science grade and students will receive additional classroom support for science through reading and vocabulary.

Students attend PE on Wednesdays and Thursdays with Mrs. Waterhouse and Mr. Biggam respectively. An additional weekly10 minutes of PE will be provided by myself as well. Please make sure your child wears appropriate clothing and shoes.

Students will be evaluated using a combination of:

  • Tests and quizzes
  • Class work
  • Participation
  • Projects and Reports

We will be using standard letter grades in the 4th grade based on the following percentages:
94-100%-                              A        4.0 grade point average (GPA)

90-93%                                 A-       4.0 GPA

87-89%                                 B+       3.0 GPA

83-86%                                 B         3.0 GPA

80-82%                                 B-        3.0 GPA

77-79%                                 C+      2.0 GPA

73-76%                                 C        2.0 GPA

70-72%                                 C-       2.0 GPA

51-69%                                 D         1.0 GPA

0-50%                                  F          0.0 GPA

Honor Roll is determined by the grades earned in eight subjects: Language, Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, PE, and Citizenship.  Earning a D or F in any of these subject disqualifies a student from Honor Roll.  

3.5 - 4.0 GPA earns Gold Honor Roll

3.0 - 3.4 GPA earns Silver Honor Roll
